We've been married since 2004 and have somehow managed to produce four rugrats we call our kids. (Yes, four!) Needless to say, it's never a dull moment in the Kenoly household.
Ironically enough, photography was a passion that both of us shared and in 2007, we decided to take our photography to the next step. Naturally, our love for music drew us to taking on many commercial assignments including the opportunity to cover a majority of the hip-hop concerts that hit the San Francisco Bay Area. While photographing the likes of artists such as Common, Mos Def, Nas & Lauryn Hill, just to name a few, our interest in reaching a more personal audience piqued.
As life continued to evolve for us our focus on what type of photography we accepted to do evolved as well. We found ourselves photographing more and more weddings and less commercial work. We immediately fell in love with the art of storytelling and the raw emotions that surround it. So much so, that the desire to pull tear sheets, construct set designs and set up strobes became less of who we were. The balance shifted and in 2010 we decided to devote our focus on documentary wedding photography.
It all made sense. Scary at first but it was a natural transition.
It’s simple, really. We understand that life. . . happens. It continues to happen and luckily enough, we have been blessed with a gift to be able to capture and document life through photography as it unfolds. We put our heart into what we do. To us, it’s more than just a pretty picture that defines an entire event. To us, it’s about capturing all the intricacies that happen throughout a wedding day. To us, it’s about being present for all the moments: from beginning to end.
We are storytellers.
